TJC Board of Directors secretary,Barbara Crews, was honored by her home town of Galveston TX, where she served as Mayor from 1990 to 1996. The Community in Schools Bill Milliken award was presented to her "for seeing the need in Galveston and implementing the CIS Program in 1991."The program continues to provide scholarships and educational support for low-income students.
